Our Virtual Clubhouse continues to operate. We have enjoyed a series of interesting and educational workshops to keep members connected and informed on a variety of topics.
Dyese Davis, Deputy Chief of Staff for New Jersey State Assembly Members Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey and Alex Maldonado of Congressman Frank Pallone Jr.’s office joined us to answer questions concerning stimulus checks, unemployment and COVID-19. The members found this very informative to help navigate the system. They were appreciative of the one on one questions they were able to ask and the individual attention they received.
Kerry Bray of Kerry Bray Wellness educated us on mindful eating during stressful times. She provided advice on how to control our eating habits and the science behind comfort eating. Here is a hint Kerry gave us to eat more mindfully, try eating with your non-dominant hand.
When our van drive Brian is not driving for us, he is an avid birder. He shared his love and knowledge of birds that we can spot in our own backyard. This proved to be so educational and popular with the members, weeks later they are still asking him to identify a bird they saw in their backyard. We have also scheduled a trip when we are able to visit Sandy Hook to do some birding as a group.
