Shore House works to empower and restore hope, independence and self-worth for people living with a mental illness by providing access to social, education and employment opportunities.

This Privacy Policy describes our privacy practices with respect to data collected through the operation of the www.shorehousenj.org website and any other website that we own or control and which posts or links to this Privacy Policy, (collectively, our “Services”) in connection with:

Services we provide to current or potential members of our community (“Members”) and

Services we provide to current or potential donors to our organization (“Donors”).

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information we collect from you. Personal information Members or Donors may provide to us through the Services includes:

  • Contact information, such as your first and last name, email and mailing addresses, and phone number.
  • Profile information, such as your username and password that you may set to establish an online account with us or other personal information we need to complete your profile.
  • Communications, such as information you provide when you contact us with questions, feedback, survey responses, or otherwise correspond with us.
  • Other information that we may collect which is not specifically listed here, but which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

Personal information Donors may provide to us through the Services includes:

  • Marketing information, such as your preferences for receiving communications about our activities, and events.
  • Payment and other information needed to complete your donations on or through the Services (including name, payment card information, bank account number, and billing information) and your donation history. Personal information potential Members may provide to us through the Services includes:

  • Health information, including your medical professionals’ descriptions of your mental health histories and assessments.

Information we collect from public sources. We may also collect personal information from the following public sources such as blogs, forums or social media platforms. Donors also have the option to login to the Services via social media platforms, such as Facebook.

Automatic collection. We and our service providers may automatically log personal information about you, your computer or mobile device, and your activity occurring on or through the Services, such as:

  • Device data, such as your computer or mobile device operating system type and version number, manufacturer and model, browser type, screen resolution, IP address, the website you visited before browsing our site, and general location information such as city, state or geographic area.
  • Online activity data, such as pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page or screen, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times, and duration of access.

Cookies and similar technologies. Our Services may use the following technologies:

  • Facilitate Donors’ login to the Services via social media platforms, such as Facebook;
  • Process Donors’ donations;
  • Communicate with you about the Services, including by sending announcements, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages; and
  • Provide support for the Services, and respond to your requests, questions and feedback.

Direct Marketing. If you are an existing Donor, we may use your information to send you marketing communications about Shore House, where permitted by applicable law (unless you have opted out). In other cases, we ask for your consent to send you marketing information. We may use the information that you provide to us to personalize communications and advertisements regarding our upcoming events and fundraisers. You will have the ability to opt-out of our marketing and promotional communications as described in the Your Choices section below.

For research and development. As part of these activities, we may create aggregated, de-identified or other anonymous data from personal information we collect. We may use this anonymous data and share it with third parties for our lawful purposes, including to analyze and improve the Services, and promote our fundraising activities.

Compliance and protection. We may use your personal information to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities;
  • Protect our, your or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims);

The public. Other users of the website and the public, when you disclose personal information for public use. For instance, you may be able to leave comments and we will display your name along with the content you submit. We do not control how other users or third parties use any personal information that you make available to them. Professional advisors. Professional advisors, such as lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.

We employ a number of technical, organizational and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, no security measures are failsafe and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

CHILDREN
This website is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information about children under age 13 through the website. If we learn that we have collected personal information of a child without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian as required by law, we will delete it.
