STF Consulting & Visual Lease Partner to Help Expand Shore House Technology

Donation and Programming of 26 Laptops Will Support Remote Programs

Having access to technology can be crucial for Shore House members, even more so this past year when we relied on it more to extend our programming reach. Thanks to a generous donation of 26 refurbished laptops from STF Consulting and Visual Lease, remote learning, program participation and job training is now more accessible than ever!

The computers provide a vital connection to Shore House programs and services for members who are unable to attend in-person — especially important as our New Jersey nonprofit continues to navigate the pandemic. The laptops are being distributed to members who do not own one, allowing them to participate in activities like the Virtual Clubhouse — which became an essential and popular part of Shore House this past year — and a weekly writing workshop with Project Write Now.

“When we were approached by Shore House Board Member Rowena Crawford-Phillips, we immediately thought of a way we could jump in to help. We were happy to support an important local program in a way that would make an immediate impact,” commented Sean T. Furman, president of STF Consulting. “Our client Tim Riley at Visual Lease jumped on board to generously donate laptops, and we refurbished and set them up with the latest software so Shore House members would be completely up and running.”

Added Shore House Executive Director Susan Mazzeo: “These computers are our members’ access to the world outside their window. They can connect virtually to Shore House, and the structure our program provides. They can also stay connected to other members, friends and family, as well as take classes, work on job skills and pursue their own passions. Most importantly, they will not be isolated.”

We all join in extending our gratitude to STF Consulting and Visual Lease for their generosity.

Shore House is dedicated to empowering and restoring hope, independence and self-worth for people living with a mental illness by providing access to social, education and employment opportunities. We are happy to accept gifts and donations that support our mission. For more information you can check out our wish list or contact our Executive Director Susan Mazzeo.
